#20: Transformation Tip: Honor Your Process
For today's episode, I have a transformation tip about how to honor your process. The way I look at transformation tips is that they are, let's say, small bite sized pieces of information that can support you in making big changes in your life and living a life that is more and more in alignment with what you really want and how you really want to live and be and operate in the world. So today's transformation tip is to honor your process.
There's a lot of noise out there. There are an infinite number of possibilities and options for you to do what you want to do, and ways to get to being how you want to be. It's really important to remember that you get to choose. You get to decide, and it's not going to look like anyone else's process. It's going to be your process. This is a reminder for you to honor that, to understand and embrace it and honor that you can do things your way.
Honor Your Process – Block Out the Noise
You don't have to look to other people. You don't have to listen to their way of doing it. I find that most times when people try to do it someone else's way, first of all, it never really works. And second, it's a struggle, honestly, because it's not necessarily what's in alignment and what's right for you.
I'm very much of the mindset that you have to find the things that work for you and do things your way. I have lots of tools that I use for that, things like human design, for example, and learning more about yourself so that you can operate the way that works best for you. Reminder to say that honor that part of yourself and trust yourself with all of this.
A lot of times when you're going through change, there can be a lot of self-doubt. There can be worry that you're not doing something right, but you are. You're doing it right for you. So remember that, honor it, trust it. This starts a lot of the time with understanding how you best make decisions. I did a podcast episode, episode number five, I think, on overcoming the fear of making decisions, and I break down all of the different decision making styles from human design. You can check it out here.
Honor Your Process – Get to Know Yourself More
A lot of this starts with getting to know yourself more. So you can honor your process in a better way, in a stronger way, in a more aligned way, if you take the time to get to know yourself and how you operate, And if you really honor the way you make decisions, if you give yourself time and space and grace to do things your way instead of comparing or overthinking or trying to mimic something from someone else or following a clear cut formula. I will tell you it's not going to be a clear cut formula. You can take pieces of things from different places, but it really, at the end of the day, it has to work for you.
The clients that I see that want to burn it all down is because they were in a process where they weren't honoring for themselves and what's most in alignment for themselves. I've been there too. I've had a couple other businesses and I realized along the way that, hey, this isn't fitting for me anymore. This isn't working for the season of life that I'm in now, and or I've outgrown something and it's time for something different. You have to trust that. You really do, and you have to honor it and protect it. Because if you're around people that don't understand you or don't really know what you're working through or don't have the same types of goals and dreams, or if you're getting a lot of noise from different places, it can really make you pretty easily veer off track.
This is your reminder that during any transformation or change, especially these big ones that sometimes we find ourselves navigating, it's really important to honor your process. Don't worry about anybody else's except your own, and really follow what feels right to you.
