#21: Ditch Comparison, Put Yourself First, and Embrace Your Way PLUS the Mind Body Connection Book Announcement
Special Annoucement: the mind body connection book is coming your way! I’m so excited to introduce the Mind Body Connection Unlocked: Simple Mind Body Techniques to Rewire Your Mind, Deepen Your Self Connection and Gently Transform the Way You Live.
I am so proud of this work and so proud to bring this out into the world. There is going to be a pre launch that you can sign up for and the book will be live in September of this year, September 2025.
This book is a compilation of my experiences of things that I've also seen with clients and ways that each one of us can really work to deepen our mind body connection and really live a life with so much more meaning and purpose and it doesn't have to look a certain way. Every single person is going to be different in what they're looking for in life and what feels good to them. This is really to get you going with that process and to support you in what you want to do. There are all kinds of tools and techniques and simple ways really because I'm not someone to overdo it. I don't think we need more overdoing in our lives. These are simple ways that you can unlock that mind body connection for yourself and, and really take your own work and your own personal transformation and your own self development process deeper for wherever you are right now.
I'm so excited about this of course for so many reasons, but really the backbone and the purpose of this and how I've come to this point and part of my why if you will, is that as a society, as humans, we are so disconnected, so disconnected in so many ways. We are so disconnected from ourselves, from our bodies, from our deeper meaning and purpose, and from the compass that can guide us through all of those things. The compass that can show us the way and have us feel more aligned to our purpose.
This mind body connection book includes these past years of me searching with my own process for how.
How do I find more of myself?
How do I find my purpose?
How do I find what feels most in alignment for me?
Because I know what I was doing at that time in my life was not it for me. I've spoken about this before. I had an experience back in my corporate job years ago. I had this experience where I was walking through the hallway and I thought I heard this voice. Actually, it wasn't even my own thought. I had this voice in my head say, is this all there is? There's got to be more. And that little question set me off on this trajectory of, what am I doing here? What am I doing here? And it doesn't have to be a grand purpose that we all go to achieve some big billion dollar company or make our mark in some splashy way. I really do believe that it's really what feels most in alignment for you. My path took me out of the corporate world in a sense, because I still work with the corporate world. But it took me on another path to own more of my expertise, my knowing, my guidance, my advisory, and allowed me to work with people in a more meaningful way versus what I had been doing at the time. This can be the same for you. It can be that your voice takes you in a different direction or your voice takes you deeper into the direction you're already going. It doesn't matter. What matters is connecting with that voice and allowing that to guide you.
So back to the disconnection. We are so disconnected that we're not listening to that voice anymore. And it's honestly, it's really hard to listen to that voice. It's hard to listen to that voice when we are flooded with information all of the time. We have the Internet, of course, our phones, our computers, our work, our tv, all of the things. I've said this before too. I mean, we have all the information at our fingertips 24/7. You can never have a break.
I woke up in the middle of the night the other day and my first thought was like to reach for my phone. No. Why? We don't need more information at that time of day. It's really about, how can you work with all of this? The Internet is not going away, the overdoses of information are not going away. It's about how can you work with all of this in a way that works for you and have it be more manageable so that you can really connect to that voice, so that you can connect to your inner knowing and feel fulfilled in your life.
I truly believe we all deserve to feel in alignment, fulfilled in our work or in our life, however it looks for us. And again, it doesn't have to be something big and splashy, but what feels right for you, you deserve that. And part of the process of discovering what that is, if you're a little lost in that process, or if you're a little unsure, is to open up to your mind, body, connection, to connect back with yourself, to get out of your mind, to let your mind stop running the show, to connect back into your body. Listen to your body's wisdom, what it's telling you. Whenever you have those gut reactions, those gut instincts, those feelings in your body of warning or of joy and excitement, pay attention to those things and then all of that will connect you back to your higher purpose. It'll connect you to your soul calling. I'm telling you, it really works. It really works.
And you may not have a moment where, in fact, I don't think you will. You won't have a moment where you're like, okay, we're all set, let's go. I know my purpose and that's it, right? It's really a process and it's a way of living and being so that as you move through life, as things come up, as challenges arise or new opportunities come to meet you, you can decide, hey, is this the right way for me to go? Not that there's any wrong way. So it's better if I say, hey, is this for my highest alignment? Is this the direction I want to be going? Not the direction I should be going because of X, Y, Z, but the direction I want to be going. And you'll be able to practice that and move through the world in a different way. The more that you unlock this connection between your mind and your body.
Your mind is not meant to run the show, but it is still a very powerful player. So I don't want to discount it. We're not going to say, let's just throw out our brains. That's where our expertise lies. In a lot of ways, it's really being able to work with your mind to understand how powerful it is to reframe and rewire your thoughts so that you can have thoughts that support your highest alignment. Letting go of the fear, the doubt, the worry, the insecurities, the comparison, the not enoughness. Getting rid of those, or at least quieting them down and opening yourself up to the expansion of love, joy, peace, satisfaction, success, alignment in whatever form it takes for you.
That's what this mind body connection book is really about. It's really about learning and understanding how you can do this. And this is mainly rooted in my own life experiences. I've talked before on the podcast about human design here and there, and for me I'm a 3/5, which is all about learning by trial and error and experimenting and doing and being in the process. So all of the things that I mention in the book I've tried in some way and it's very much it's not meant to be. Follow each and everything I give you. This is tools for your toolbox. You decide which ones work for you. And honestly, because of what I know about human design and life and working with clients, I know that not everything is for everybody. So you'll take the ones that work for you, leave the rest behind, and maybe you'll come back and revisit them at a different point in your life. Everything is always evolving and changing.
A lot of the times we get stuck and focused in one way and say, okay, it has to be this way. For any of my type A personalities out there, any of my overachievers that are listening. There's a lot that's linked to control that we want to have it all figured out and planned out because it feels good. I know, I've been there. I still try to do that from time to time. And that's not really how this all works. It's really not how life works. Everything is always changing. It's really about your relationship with that change and how you can evolve and grow with it, how you can learn from it, and how you work with it to create the next level for yourself of again, whatever that looks like for you. I'm not going to be one to say that you have to have a certain type of career, you have to have a certain type of home life or anything like that.
This mind body connection book is a compilation of all of those things and I'm so excited to share it with you. This is really about supporting you in your journey, wherever you are, with tools and resources that can help you in your next level of unlocking your mind body connection.
Mind Body Connection Book Tip 1 – Be Open and Curious
There are a few key principles that I have that are really things that I try to live by and I encourage my clients to live by related to this work and the mind body connection book. And I'll share those here too because they are a big part of this mind body connection book. If this is something that you're interested in, which I'm assuming at this point you are, at least to some degree, right. If you are interested in the mind body connection and deepening your own connection to this process, there are a few invitations that, that I want to share with you.
Now, the first invitation that is mentioned in the mind body connection book is to be open and curious. We all come with a whole lot of beliefs about a whole lot of things, beliefs and baggage, and that is shaped from our childhood, from our life situations, our experiences, society as a whole, many different places. What I'm inviting you to do is be open and curious about where you can explore further for yourself.
This process can bring up uncomfortable feelings. It can show you places where you have an invitation to heal something. You never have to do anything. I will say it's an invitation. It's always an invitation. You can have an invitation to heal something and to really allow yourself to move forward in a different way. But that will not happen if you're not open to the process, if you're not open to considering things in a different way. I use this quote a lot from Albert Einstein: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” It's the same here. If you are on a journey looking for something deeper, you have a feeling somehow of something that has more meaning to you or a certain purpose or direction or way that you want to be in your life. You're going to have to do things differently than you've done them up to this point. It's not saying the things that you've done in the past are wrong because everything has a time and a place. This is an invitation to deepen the work and to get curious and be open about the next place that you want to be.
So, the first step is simply allowing yourself to be open and curious as you move through this process.
Mind Body Connection Book Tip 2 – Put Yourself First In This Process
The second invitation that’s mentioned in the mind body connection book is to put yourself first in this process. There are a lot of times that many of us want to do things for everyone else, especially if you've been considered or labeled a helper in some way. You want to fix things, you want to help people. That is great. I'm not saying don't fix. I'm not saying don't help. Although using discernment is always advised.
What I'm saying here is for this process, you need to be willing to put yourself first. You need to think about your own needs and wants and desires. And that is not a bad thing. It is not selfish. It is not insert any other belief you have about it. It's really for your highest alignment. You need to be able to put yourself first, front and center, the main character in your own life. Because when you give your energy to everyone else first, you are not left with enough for yourself. You need to put yourself first in this process.
If you want to own your path and you want to unlock your next step and feel fulfilled in your life, in your relationships, in your work, whatever it is, you need to put yourself first in this process. You need to be willing to set aside everyone else. And yes, of course there are life circumstances. And so you might say, oh, well, I don't have time. I have young kids at home. I get it. My kids are a little older now, but we're still, we're starting to enter the tween teen age. I guess we've already entered it. And I understand being a parent and the, the challenges that come with that. And maybe this just isn't a season for you to be doing this work. That's totally fine too.
If you are interested in this, you're going to have to find pockets of time. Doesn't have to be a lot, but pockets of time where you really prioritize yourself. And I recognize that that's a whole mindset shift for a lot of people. It's a whole mindset shift, especially for women and mothers, to not feel guilty that they're putting themselves first, to not feel guilty that they're paying attention to their own wants and needs. No one wants a martyr. Trust me, your children don't want it either. They want you to feel fulfilled and happy and at peace and successful and all of those different feelings of joy and highest alignment. Because when you are those things, they will see that modeled within you, and they will also see that they can also have that for themselves.
Putting yourself first in this process is very important. These are all challenges that I've had in my own process, too. So I'm sharing them with you here in hopes that it's helpful. And it's also part of the backbone of the book, is to have these things in place or invitations to have these in place.
Make it stand out
Mind Body Connection Book Tip 3 – Ditch the Worry of What Others Will Think
The third invitation that is mentioned in the mind body connection book is to ditch the worry of what others will think. We spend a lot of time online. We spend a lot of time comparing our lives to someone else's highlight reel. And this is not what that is. This is an invitation for you to put yourself front and center and to not worry or wonder about other people. They are not giving you the same thought in their head that you think they're giving you. Trust me, I've overthought this many different ways, but you have to put that aside. It's an invitation to stop that worrying, to stop that comparison and wondering what other people think.
I'm on my own journey. I've had a very technical career, and I've wandered into a more spiritual place and space. And now I've had, over the years, a reckoning with, what is that? Who am I? What is this balance of how I am and how I want to be, and what. What will other people think? I'm an engineer by background, and now I'm talking about working with energy and all of these different things. And it's all part of me, and that's okay.
What I've realized over time with my own mind body connection work is that the people that are interested in this and perhaps have a similar trajectory in some way, or have had similar experiences, this reckoning of worlds, if you will, they will resonate, and the ones that don't, won't. And that's okay, because I know I'm not here for everybody. And it's not possible to be here for everybody anyway.
So if you're worried about other people, it is a safety mechanism that's keeping you stuck where you are, that's keeping you small. Because instead of putting your effort to your highest alignment, you're spending your time, energy and effort overthinking about what someone else thinks that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what they think. What matters is how you feel, if you're fulfilled with your life.
It's so easy to let other people have control in that way. This process is about getting that back for yourself. It's really important to be open about it and consider.
Are there places where you're worrying about what other people are thinking about you or a situation?
Are you letting that dictate your actions instead of going after what you really want?
Mind Body Connection Book Conclusion
These are three invitations I wanted to give you today related to the mind body connection book. They're actually part of the opening sequence of the mind body connection book because I feel very strongly that these are pillars to work with and be curious about to really start to open the tap on the mind body connection.
The mind body connection book gets into much more details in these areas and there are whole sections for each. I cover understanding the mind body connection as a principle first, and then going into each of the areas. The self, the mind, the body, the soul, and also integration and what it looks like to actually incorporate these things into your life. Because this isn't meant to be a book just about concepts. I am not a teacher of concepts.
I was actually talking to my husband the other day about this because this book is not an academic, you know, thesis or piece of work for a PhD. This is my life experiences and stories and things that have happened for me and sometimes with my clients too. And it's really meant to encourage anyone who's interested because all of this is possible for each and every one of us. And what I spent a lot of time worrying about personally was that I didn't deserve certain things or who am I to want a certain thing or I spent a lot of time worrying about who am I to deserve certain things or want certain things, and I was not worth it in some way. I didn't deserve certain things because, oh, this book isn't an academic book. That's not what this is about. Because actually, I spent so much of my time trying to figure out and find myself. And I want these experiences and tools and activities because there's a little bit of everything in here. I want this to help you in some way.
My hope is that it helps you in some way in your life and that it's a way to show you that anybody can do this. I am not different from the person next door. It's part of my story and my process. And you can also do this in your own way in your own way. It's going to look different for you for sure. But there's a lot that you can pull from this and use for yourself and take what's helpful and experiment and try different things and, and use it for yourself.
That's my hope with this mind body connection book, is that you are able to see that this is available to you. I used to always think that other people could access things more than me. Other people could access their gifts, other people could read and work with energy and I couldn't. Other people could see things that I couldn't see. And that was my own blocks. These were my own things that I had to work through to really get to know myself and step more into my next level. And this is not something that goes away at each level. There's another thing that you need to unlock and unblock. Usually a little harder version of the time that you did it before. That's a whole other story. But all of this to say that you can have what you want, you deserve to have what you want in ways that feel good to you. And I just think a lot of us are lost. We're a little lost in this world and it's time for us to find our way back to ourselves because that's what the world needs right now.
The world needs more of us in our highest alignment. Discovering more about ourselves, putting ourselves first, owning what we want, not worrying and having fear based decisions from what other people may think. The world needs each and every one of us and the world needs you to step more fully into the truest version of you in your highest alignment so that we can all raise each other up and honestly shift the trajectory of this planet. Okay, that's the best way I know how to say it. But it starts with each one of us showing up for ourselves.
