#23: Throat Center Human Design [Discover Who You Are Series]
Before we get started with today's episode, I have a special announcement. It is now almost July, as crazy as that seems for me at least, but I feel like for a lot of people, and so it's the middle of the year, we are pretty much finishing up Q2, and I know the beginning of the year is a time that most people are really ready and energized and setting lots of goals and picking word of the year and all those things that usually happens in January. And then by the time June July comes, things have slipped, goals have changed, and sometimes it's time for a reset. So I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be speaking at the Mid Year Reboot Summit. If you are someone that is a coach or a business owner, online business owner or creator in some way, this summit is all about how you can reset for the second half of the year, how you can check in with yourself and start to realign. There's going to be many, many speakers, over 20 speakers. There's going to be so much great information for you to choose from and to work with to support you on your journey. I will be speaking about decision making and in life and business because it's such a critical tool. And I will be speaking about decision making in life and business because it's really an important part of the process and being a business owner for sure. I wanted to invite you to join me and to follow along with this summit. You can register here to join us.
Last week we started a series all about alignment, all about your relationship with yourself. I am weaving in things about human design. You do not have to know your human design chart, of course, if you want to, that's great because I personally believe Human design can be a life changing tool that can support you with how your energy works, how you move about the world, how you best make decisions. So many different things. And if you don't have it, if you're not interested, that's okay. You will still get a lot of value out of listening to this episode in this series because it's an invitation for you to explore different parts of your relationship with yourself, regardless of what your chart says.
Last week we talked about the Human Design Identity Center, which is all about purpose and direction and self love and self trust. This week we're talking about the Throat Center. The Throat center is all about taking action and where things manifest from. It's also about your voice and how you express yourself. So these are again, big topics that you could get curious and lean into a little more, should you so choose. And so for today, I wanted to dig in a little bit into exploring your relationship with the Throat center, your relationship with your voice and taking action as a way for you to potentially identify where you may be stuck or where you may want to make some changes so that you can move forward with your life in a different way. Each of these different centers that we're working with and these different themes are invitations to explore. And I always say, take what resonates and leave the rest.
Make it stand out
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
The Relationship between Your Voice and the Throat Center Human Design
For the Throat center, we'll start with your voice.
What is your relationship with your voice?
Do you feel strong and stable and grounded in your voice and how you show up expressing it to the world?
Or do you feel wobbly and unsure and sometimes potentially dimming your light in some way?
How do you show up?
How do you show up even when you communicate with others?
So there can be the aspect of the business or the career in some way and how you show up when you speak on your stage or on your platform to others and work with clients. Then there's also the piece of communicating with family members and loved ones and how you show up in those relationships as you communicate your wants, your needs, your frustrations, your deepest desires, all of these different things.
The invitation here is to take a look at what is your relationship with your voice. Now, when we weave in the human design centers, this is not a lesson on the centers, but you may have consistent access to the energy of the throat if your chart has it colored in or you may have inconsistent access to it. If your chart has a white shape for the throat, you can get your free charts in. I'll put links in the show notes and all the things I also will be having a more in depth chart that you can purchase and learn even more about yourself and what your energy says without having to do a reading. If you are not wanting to do a reading right now, I should have said all that in the beginning.
This is all about taking a look at that relationship with your voice, how you communicate out. You may have consistent access to the energy of your throat, which means you probably feel that you have kind of one direction and one voice that goes out into the world. Or you may have inconsistent access to that energy or where it can kind of really depend on who you're around and what you're doing. Because when we have that inconsistent access to energy, we tend to take on and amplify from other people or amplify what other people are feeling if we're not careful. That can then become our own too, which is not ideal in any case.
The invitation here is to take a look at how do you feel about your voice and if you don't feel great about it in some way, if you don't feel in alignment with it, what would it take to feel more in alignment? Are there things that you can practice to get used to hearing your voice more? I personally had a not aligned relationship with my voice for a long time and I started doing things like talking to myself out loud, getting used to what I wanted to say. And even I remember one time in. I go to yoga class here in France and the teacher is lovely and one time during some of the chants at the end of class, I. I'm sure she couldn't really hear me because I was being so soft with it, I was not using my voice. And she called me out and she said this, this is a space and a place where you can share your voice and contribute to the chance. And it was such a great reflection for me, such a great mirror for me to say, hey, actually yes I can and allow myself to experiment with that more so that in future classes I did contribute more in that way in the beginning. I was really just observing and kind of, kind of nervous to even be going to a full exercise class in French. That's a whole other thing.
My point is that you can take a look at your relationship with your voice and see where are there places where you want to make it stronger or you want to feel heard in some way that maybe you're not feeling heard right now. It's an invitation to explore that for you and what it looks like for you.
Manifestation with the Throat Center Human Design
The other part of the throat center that I mentioned before is along the lines of taking action. The throat is the manifestation center. It's where all of the different energies of the chart want to come out and express.
Taking a look at your relationship with taking action:
Do you feel that you are good about taking action?
Do you feel good about how you show up and the things that you do in the day to day?
Or do you feel like you get stuck a lot of the time and you hem and haw or you kind of put things off or procrastinate and then you could take a look at why is that happening?
It's usually because you're not in alignment with something. You either know that it's the right direction and you're scared to take it, you're keeping yourself small, or you know, it's not quite the direction for you, but you're not sure what to do instead of. And so take a look at that relationship with manifestation, with taking action and see, hey, am I showing up in the way I want to show up every day or am I not so much and there's something else I want to do to change that instead, this is all on the table for you. So take a look at it. I know for some people it may feel easier to take action than others. That can be tied to your consistent or inconsistent access to the energy there. And it's important to have the self awareness about, okay, what's really keeping you stuck and how come things aren't flowing for you the way you'd like them to be.
The throat center is all of these different things. It's how you express yourself, it's your voice, it's taking action and the momentum and the movement and the manifestation of what you're bringing into your world and what you're putting out into the world. So it's all here for you. It's all an invitation. Again, take what resonates and leave the rest. But I wanted to share this as a way for you to get curious about your voice, how you feel about your expression and your version of taking action and how you feel about all of it. Maybe there's things you want to tweak or change, or maybe this was a confirmation saying, hey, actually I feel really good in these areas. I feel really strong with where I am right now, which is fantastic. So it's all about assessing where you are on the spectrum of alignment. I will say we all kind of live in this spectrum of not aligned to aligned. And you can fall anywhere in between and it's always changing.
The question is, where are you on that spectrum with your relationship to your alignment with the throat center and with all of these themes? So that's your homework, and your invitation is to take a look where you feel called from these different topics and reflection points. Choose the ones that work for you. You may want to journal about them. You may want to go for a walk and talk out loud. If you're an external processor, have someone to sound bored with. Not to get advice, but to understand, you know, to listen to what you're processing. There are many different ways that you can do this.
Conclusion on the Throat Center Human Design
Again, if you want to go deeper with any of this information, of course I'm here. Please ask me the questions. I also offer Human Design readings and go more in depth on these things when they come up for clients. But in the meantime, there's plenty of things here that can get you started and get you working on your relationship with your voice and your throat.
We are often told and kind of learn from a young age to stay small, keep our voice small, be not seen in some way, kind of hide a little bit. And it's not time for that anymore. It's time for you to own your voice. It's time for you to own your relationship with yourself, with your self expression, with taking action and really honoring that so that you can live the most fulfilled life that you can live, which is the point of all of this, becoming a leader of your own life, whatever it looks like for you.
All right, so that's what I have for you today. If you know anyone that this may support in some way, please feel free to share it with them. I would be so honored. It helps the podcast get so seen and heard by other people. And thank you so much for being here. I really appreciate you. I appreciate you listening. Thank you so much. And I'll talk to you next week.
