#25: Exploring Certainty Through the Ajna Center Human Design [Discover Who You Are Series]

Before we jump into today's episode about the ajna center human design, a friendly special reminder that the Mind Body Connection Unlocked book is coming to you very soon. You can get on the list to be notified when pre orders are live. I'm offering a lot of special bonuses and fun experiences for anyone that signs up and takes part in the pre order. This book is such a project and I'm so excited to share it with you. If you have been wanting to go deeper into this work and you weren't sure how, this book is a great starting place. It is sharing so much information around the self and how you navigate, taking care of yourself and then specifically diving more into your relationship with your mind, with your body and how all of that comes together to form and follow your path, your desires, your soul seeking adventures, all of the things. I'm really, really excited to share this with you soon. You can get all the details and be notified for when the pre order goes live here.

We’re continuing the series with the Human Design centers and today we're specifically talking about the Ajna center in human design. If you haven't been listening to the other episodes, you can go back and listen to those as well. We've covered the Identity center, the Throat center, and the Head center so far. So now we're talking about the Ajna center in Human Design.

A couple of things before we jump into it in case this is your first episode from the series:

  • Human design is a tool. It's a map. It's a blueprint that shows you many, many things about how your energy is designed to work, how you best make decisions, and a whole plethora of other avenues that you can take to understand more about how you operate.

  • It is also not meant to say you have to do this or you have to be that. I am very much about take what resonates and leave the rest. So find the way that it works for you.

  • You don't need to know human design for this series in order to get something from it and to really be able to self reflect in the way that I'm offering as part of this summer series to discover more of who you are.

You can get a free chart. You you'll need to know your birth time, date and location.

Let's start with the Human Design Ajna center. The Ajna center is an awareness center. If you are looking at your human design chart, it's the second shape down from the top and it's connected to the head center. So we talked about the head center last week with doubt overthinking over consuming information and also the ability to know and have the information that you need. This week with the Ajna, it's really about the awareness around helping you process information and then taking inspiration from the head and making sense of it. That's what the Ajna is doing.

Regardless of if you have consistent access to this energy or inconsistent access which that's related to, if you have the shape colored in on your chart, then you have consistent access to it. If you have it white, then it's inconsistent access. And with that it's about this process in this relationship of taking the information from the head and doing something with it and seeing how you create clarity or create certainty from it.

The themes of the ajna center are around idea generation, insights, opinions, certainty and can also come from it mental anxiety. The need and the desire and want to be certain if you aren't certain. So all of these themes are part of the center.

Consistent Access to Your Energy with the Defined Ajna Center Human Design

Then, we have high and low expressions for each. If you have consistent access to this energy, if you're so it's the second shape down from the top of the chart. If it's colored in, you have consistent access to it. And if that is you, that means that you really are here with a steady mind, you will not be as easily influenced by others thoughts. If you're in a low expression of that, you could be giving your certainty to other people and depending on your mind as the sole source of wisdom.

Making Decisions from Your Mind Instead of Your Body in Human Design

I've talked a lot about in life we're not meant to make decisions with our mind, even though a lot of us do. And in this case, if you have this center defined or colored in with the consistent access to the energy, you can potentially depend on your AJNA center to make the decisions for you. And that's not really what we're here to do. So depending on your design, you have one of the decision making styles. I have covered decision making in an earlier episode. You can listen to it here to learn about where you're meant to make a decision from, but it's not from your Ajna. Well, unless you have environmental authority, in which case you are processing with your Ajna. That's for another day and another topic.

Inconsistent Access to Your Energy with the Undefined Ajna Center Human Design

If you do not have consistent access to this energy, it's going to look a little bit different. When you don't have consistent access. When the shape is. Is not colored in, when it's white, it means that you're taking on and learning from the world around you. And you're also amplifying what you feel from different scenarios, different things that are happening. So someone with inconsistent access to this energy is really here to be wise about what to process, to be discerning with that. And they know and understand that there's multiple ways to process information. So it's less fixed, similar to how we talked last week about the head center. And if you have a defined head or the consistent access, you could be a little more fixed or rigid in your thinking. If you have it undefined or inconsistent access to the energy, it is more flexible and malleable to an extent. So it's the same here with the Ajna in terms of your ideas and your clarity and your certainty, you have an openness around it. Now that would be in the high expression. If you're in a low expression of could be that you're feeling anxious and you could be spreading that anxiety to other people and kind of giving that over, passing that along, you can be really uncertain to others and not having a consistent way to process the information. So depending on your relationship with this, depending on your relationship with ideas and processing information and clarity and certainty, it'll look a little different for you with those two different expressions.

Now again, it's not for teaching today, but I, I did want to share that as just to ground you in this center. If you do want to go deeper with your chart again, you can pull the free chart, and I also offer human design readings. So if you ever feel called to that, you can check those out.

Reflection Questions with the Ajna Center Human Design

Some questions for you today to reflect on your relationship with the center. Again, all of this is to bring you back to you and discover more about yourself. And this is one tool and one way that you can use to check in and see where you're aligned and see where you're perhaps not aligned.

What is your relationship with certainty?

Are you someone that always needs to be certain and is your mind always searching to be certain? If it is, you're likely dealing with a lot of different thoughts and spinning wheels over and over again. Are you easily influenced by others ideas? If someone else shares something with you, are you pretty immediately willing to take that on as yours or allow that to help you decide something because so and so told you or so and so said it. And they really know what they're talking about, so I should believe them.

Are you too fixed in your own ideas?

That's another question for reflection. Are you too fixed on how you want things to go or how you expect things to be, that you perhaps hold on to it a little too tightly? A lot of the times we can do that, and I really think this could happen in the low expression of either of them, although the fixedness is more associated when you have consistent access to the energy. But really, a lot of the times, well, we waver between the two, right? We waver between being really fixed and wanting to strangle something because we want to control it so much, or not knowing anything, feeling like we don't know anything about the thing, and allowing that to have us spiral in the uncertainty, really, life is somewhere in the happy medium of the two. It's really about getting that clarity, getting that certainty to an extent, and also being willing to release and let go and trust that things are working out for you and trust that things are working out the way they are meant to. And I'll be the first one to say it can be very tricky and very challenging to lean into that trust. But if you want to experiment with the Ajna center and experiment with your relationship to certainty and clarity and processing information in a way that's healthy for you, then I invite you to really look at these things because it can really change how you see and how you approach even projects.

quote about clarity for ajna center human design

For me, I have an undefined, so inconsistent access to the Ajna center. And I can tell when I am in my overthinking mode. I'm searching, searching, searching for certainty. And I'm worried about every little step. Oh, am I going to make a mistake here? Oh, what if that. What if that? And then I say, oh, wow, wait, this is my Ajna spinning around in circles because I'm not trusting that I know how to take my very next step. It shows up in other parts of the chart too. There are a lot of different layers to human design, but this does also tie to the Ajna and the processing of information.

Another thing I do with this is that I let. How do I say, I'll take people's ideas? And I'll say, oh, okay, well, I should do that because so and so told me. And it's just sometimes it feels easier to kind of give things up and let someone else take control. And also that's really the worst thing you can do because you need to be in the driver's seat for yourself. No one else can do that for you. So recognizing when that happens is also a big thing. And then in that case, I have to spend time, get clear, spend time by myself to really say, hey, okay, that was a great idea that came in. And is that really the direction I want to take, which is then deciding with my body instead of with my mind? And that goes back to the beginning of not making decisions with the mind.

If there is one thing you can change in your life, that will be incredibly powerful for you, I promise, it is to learn how to make decisions with your mind body connection. It's to learn how to make decisions using your body, not relying on your mind. I'm not talking about what to eat for dinner tonight or when to go to the store, although you certainly can tune in to your body for those things too. But any of those bigger life decisions, certainly moving, entering new relationships, changing jobs, all of these kinds of things, you're meant to work out differently than you're probably doing that today. If you're not already aware of human design, if you're not already into the mind body connection.

Are you trying to make decisions from your mind?

And again, you can check out episode 4 to learn more about your decision making style. And that can start you on the path and the journey of learning how to work with it in your everyday life. Because if you're trying to think your way through certain things, it's probably not the most aligned thing for you. If you're trying to think your way through things, it's probably not the most aligned thing for you or you don't have enough information yet to get a clear signal from your body if it's something that you want to do or not.

There are different decision making types. Some are meant to make decisions in the moment, others, others are meant to take time and get clarity over time. So again, it really depends for you. I encourage you to check it out with your chart, pull your chart and see what it is for you. I also have a decision making workshop from time to time that I offer along with the individual readings. I certainly cover it in there because it's such a big piece of working with this information and invitation to just get curious and see what your style is and how you can start to incorporate that for yourself.

Conclusion on Ajna Center Human Design

So that's what I have today on the Human Design AJNA Center. I hope you found this information helpful for where you are right now.

I encourage you again to get curious with your relationship with processing information, certainty, clarity and seeing how things come together for you.

Do you let it trip you up or do you feel that you're in flow and in right relationship with the center?

Take a bit of time, process and see where you end up and see if it's something that you want to dive deeper into for yourself and change your relationship a little bit with this information and with how you work with this center.

These episodes and this series especially, it's meant to spark different ideas for you, maybe open you up to a different way of thinking about something so that you can access more of yourself and what feels right for you. So it's not telling you that you have to do something with your ajna center. It's an invitation to see how you're working with it now and what you might be curious about for the future.
