#33: Align Your Mind and Body With This Simple Visioning Exercise

Today, I want to share a simple activity to align your mind and body that’s been truly transformational in my life, and I hope it will serve you just as powerfully. If you’ve ever felt a disconnect between where you are and where you want to be, keep reading. I’m going to share a daily practice to help you align your mind and body, unlocking incredible shifts along your journey. 

Why Focus Matters—and How We Can Shift It 

Often, it’s second nature to dwell on what’s missing in our lives—the perfect job, relationship, or bank account. Here’s the thing: what you focus on expands. So, if we dwell in lack, we get more of it. The game-changer? Intentionally placing attention on what we want and even more importantly, how we’ll feel once that desire becomes our reality. This is a key way we begin to align our mind and body for positive transformation.

A Simple Practice to Align Your Mind and Body 

Let’s get practical. I’m inviting you to try a visioning exercise (daily, if possible). Choose the morning (my favorite) or the evening. Right after you wake, or before bed, take a few moments:  

  1. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths. 

  1. Imagine your future self. How do you feel when you’ve achieved that dream or milestone? 

  1. Engage all your senses. What do you see, hear, or even smell? Bring that future reality to life! 

  1. Act as if it’s already true. Bask in those feelings, right now. 

  1. Invite this energy and connection to stay with you throughout your day. 

When you combine imagination with physical sensation, you begin to align your mind and body on a deep level. Over time, this sets in motion new opportunities, connections, and inner confidence… often in ways you couldn’t predict.

Why This Works: Align Your Mind and Body to be In Sync 

Science and experience both show us: your mind doesn’t know the difference between visualized truth and "real" truth. Whether it’s reacting to a threat that’s not really there, or celebrating a victory before it happens, your body follows your mind’s lead. That’s why it’s so powerful to align your mind and body with the energy of what you want not what you fear or lack. 

It might feel awkward or maybe even a little silly at first. But honestly: what’s the downside? Taking a few intentional minutes each day to focus on joy, gratitude, and desire can shift your thoughts away from worry and toward possibility. When you align your mind and body in this way, the effects ripple out across every area of your life. 

Let Your Desires Find You 

There’s a mantra I love: What I want wants me more. It reminds us the universe is a co-conspirator in our highest good. When you align your mind and body with your intentions, you’re not just passively waiting… you’re energetically inviting your dreams in.
